Well this is probably the first time I have actually looked at LJ in a month! I've been pretty busy. Today I had a Science Peer Mentoring Training Session. I had to act out a situation, with another guy in which he was my mentee and was trying to offer me drugs, lol. It was pretty hard actaully to think of what to say on the spot. The first thing he offered me I hadn't even heard of and was so confused so then he tried offering me weed (as I actually knew was this drug was lol) and all I could think of was Sanja and what she would say...so I refused and said I was straight edge haha and all I hear is laughter from the audience and a random voice saying "Haha, straight edge" So yes, I really hope I get a normal shy mentee. | | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |

| Well I saw the Lord of the Rings play today and it was AMAZING! I don't care what all those stupid critics say, it was awesome! Like the sets and the lighting and the costumes...wow...truly amazing...like it was so easily changed from the beautiful haven of Lothlorien to the gloomy and evil relm of Mordor. And the speical effects...like I don't know how they did some it and other things were just ingenious. My favourite parts were when they were under the misty mountains and that firey monster thing attacks Gandalf...they had this wind blowing at you...it felt like you were there and then all of a sudden the monster thing just comes out of no where and like engulfs the stage and it was so red and burning...like that was all you could see and then I guess as like ash there were bits of tissue papper blowing around everywhere...like i got a ton in my head, it just seemed to real. I also loved how they did the black riders and all the evil monster things...they had some of them like bouncing on springs...it sounds cute, but it made them seem more unhuman. The actors were also amazing....especially gollum who was played by the same guy who was Leo Bloom in the producers (I loved him in that and I loved him as gollum). So yes, I had an awesome time...everything was spectacular!

| | Well, today was my last bellydancing lesson of the year. I will definitely miss it, but it was a memorable last lesson. It all began when I was doing hw in my room and I got a knock at the door. It was Amanda coming to pick my up for the lessons, however I was very confused at it was only 4pm and we have lessons at 5pm...then it hit me...today we spring forward. So luckily I was already in sweats and I just threw on shoes and a sweater, grabbed my keys and ran out...forgetting my jinggly shash :( When we got to the sports center we found that the room that we normally had lessons in was like a sauna so we had to find a different room to have the lesson. However, the only other available room was in the squash courts. As we progressed to the new room we went through a door and walked down some stairs and found ourselves in a dungeon like atmosphere...a little creepy. We continued to progress down the dank, cold, grey passage until we rounded a courner and went through a very small door (so small that I had to bend inorder to get though) and found ourselves in our new room. It was kinda sketchy...the lighting was such that everything acquired a yellow tinge. Nevertheless, soon we were all settled in and pumped for bellydancing. Our instructor first went over some warm-up and review before she tried to teach us how to do belly rolls. Apparently it's one of those things where either you can do it or you can't...it's something that can't be learned. I'm pretty sure I'm one of those who won't be able to learn it, lol. Basically what you have to do is separate the bottom of your stomach from the top. Push out the top, push out the bottom, pull in the top, pull in the bottom. Easy in theory, but extremely hard to actually do...but our instructor looked so cool when she did it and so I really hope I will be able to do it some day. Anyways, after doing some moves to drum beats, we started to go through one of the dances that we've been working on all term. However, she added this twist to it where we had to go into circle formation...and OMG...like it confused all of us SOOOO much and we never actually got it right...when we got to the circle part, it was just the teacher going "NO, no, IN, no, no OUT OUT, no, no IN IN!!" and us all confused and jumping around all over places, shoulder shimming and hip shimming in all the wrong places. So yes, very funny...I couldn't stop laughing. Now I can't wait till next year so I can do bellydancing again. | | comments: 8 comments or Leave a comment |

I just came back from seeing a really cute musical, called the boyfriend. It was about all these flappers who had boyfriends, except one of them just pretended to have one (she wrote herself love letters) because her father wouldn't let her have one. However, she meets a dreamy delivery boy and they fall maddly in love, but of course there were complications involved. Included in this masterpiece of a musical was a horney old man who hit on the young flapper girls and a stunning climatic ending where all the boyfriends proposed to their girlfriends on the night of the costume ball. | | I had an interesting meal experince this night. Viji (roommate), Cameron (floormate) and I went to eat at Healthy Choice. It was Cameron's idea. He wanted to get the speical. So we get there and we wait 30 min in line because it takes so long to prepare the food but, the food there is so good that it's worth it. And as we were watching them prepre the meal all our mouths were watering...the garlic bread, pasta with so many veggies in a wonderful cream sauce and chicken...with the best smelling sauce and all prepared with a sprinkle of this herb and that and on very fancy plates. As we walked up to the cash we noticed people stepping out of our way to make room for the glorious food. Everyone had their mouth wide open in astonishment and the wisperings of "Omg, that looks SOOOO good" could be heard from all around. Yes, we were proud of our meal and with good reason. We sat down and began to eat....mmm..everything was perfect. However, after 30 min of eating it seemed as if there was no dent in our pasta, and much meat left on the chicken. Was this food so special that it magically replenishes itself so that is there was no hope of ever finishing? It seemed quite plausable. Our stomachs were full and we were wished our plates were empty. "This is torture" Cameron gasped as he took a bite of noodles. And it was. We soon realized that we would never finish this meal and so sadly walked over to the garbage and dumped our food. We though of all the poor starving children and our hearts grew heavier. We slowly made our way back to our room. We could hardly make it up the stairs as we were so full. Why did we choose not to take the evelvator, you say? The answer is still uncertain. When we made it back to our rooms we floped onto our beds and vowed to never eat again :P So the moral of this story is, if you ever get the special share it with a friend. | | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |

Hmmm...I think that a better new years resolution would be to read the Chronicles of Narnia. I just came back from seeing the movie. It was awesome...so much better than I expected. I didn't find it too "kiddy" Lots of kids in the audience were quite scared actually...it was quite cute. However, in the movie there was no blood shown except for the cut on Edmund's lip :P I didn't mind though...I didn't even notice until about the last 15 min of the movie anyways...I was so enraptured in it to notice :P Now I am inspired to read the books again..although I will probably stop when I start school again...damn hw :( | | comments: 6 comments or Leave a comment |
